DescriptionInova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Clinical Technician 1 Radiation Oncology to join the team. This role will be PRN; 23-day shifts per week; No weekends no holidays. Department is open Monday-Friday 7:00 AM 5:30 PM.

Clinical Technician 1 Radiation Oncology Job Responsibilities:
- PLEASE NOTE: responsibilities include 60% administrative & 40% patient care. No IV or Phlebotomy will be performed in this role.
- Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- Provides measurement of vital signs and intake/output.
- Completes assigned patient duties within the established time frame.
- Completes necessary documentation accurately and reinforces discharge teaching and home care skills.
- Communicates changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
- Provides direct care to patients under direct supervision of registered nurse.
- Training: Must be available six (6) for non-consecutive weeks of paid training consisting of:
- Virtual orientations (Two from 8AM -4:30PM)
- Virtual training modules.
- Classroom-style sessions: 8AM 4:30PM (6 shifts total)
- On-unit shifts
- May perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education:High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American HeartAssociation or obtain within 90 days of hire
- Special Skills:Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English
- Physical Requirements:Ability to lift minimum of 35lbs pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience:Healthcare background / interest; Someone who is interested in healthcare but is leaning toward an administrative role rather than patient care; Familiarity with oncology not afraid of seeing patients with different types of cancers; Comfortable with medical terminology.
