The Opportunity:

Were looking for a 2-3 month contract Writer to help us share our scientific and business progress with a wide audience through writing. The ideal candidate will have editorial experience and a keen eye for detail. You should be able to contextualize our research which covers a broad range of topics and disciplines. Through this effort we want to make our work understandable by the public without deep expertise in a given field. We shoot for a more conversational tone with visibility into our thinking. The Writer will be involved at the outset of planning new posts in partnership with analysts and co-founders preparing early drafts and incorporating feedback.

Responsibilities

Work directly with our co-founders to prepare written updates on our science and business by drafting copy and providing high-level feedback on structure and organization
Maintain a firm grasp of Arcadias publishing experiment and business model in order to help ideate and iterate on our written communications
Write for clarity while taking care to ensure scientific and historical accuracy

Experience

You should have enough scientific experience to understand our general research aims which covers a broad range of topics and scientific disciplines.
A minimum of one year professional experience in writing and editing science or other technically-focused communication
Firm understanding of basic research ecosystem and biotech sector (eg. venture capital)

$75 - $90 an hour
