Radiation Therapist Contract
Location: New York NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift 08:00 AM 04:00 PM
Pay Rate: $52 $55 per hour
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist for a 13-week contract assignment in New York NY. The Radiation Therapist will deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments accurately and safely collaborate closely with Radiation Oncologists and clinical staff and ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality assurance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver therapeutic radiation treatments in accordance with Radiation Oncologist prescriptions
Verify treatment prescriptions for accuracy and identify any mathematical or technical discrepancies
Perform patient setup using immobilization devices field parameters beam shaping wedges and compensating filters
Obtain interpret and submit port images/beam films for physician review and approval
Maintain visual and audible communication with patients during treatment and provide reassurance throughout procedures
Accurately document treatments in patient charts and record-and-verify systems
Perform daily quality assurance (QA) safety checks and equipment inspections per regulatory requirements
Detect equipment malfunctions and report issues to senior therapy staff or medical physics
Maintain treatment rooms equipment and supplies in a clean organized and safe condition
Observe document and report patient reactions or condition changes to appropriate clinical staff
Participate in chart rounds treatment discussions in-service training and departmental meetings
Assist in training and evaluating student radiation therapists
Support scheduling chart checks and other departmental activities as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in therapeutic radiation therapy
Hands-on experience with Varian TrueBeam technology
Proficiency using MOSAIQ EMR
Strong understanding of radiation safety quality control and treatment protocols
Excellent patient communication and professional demeanor
