About Us
As the landlord for all facilities owned by Maricopa County the Facilities Management Department is responsible for the planning design construction maintenance and operations of more than 200 facilities comprised of over 10 million square feet. Facilities Management is made up of a collaborative team that provides and performs various functions to meet the facility-related needs of all Maricopa County Departments. Our broad range of services includes various aspects of the ongoing operations and maintenance of all County-owned facilities management of all facility projects and in-house design services.

We Require
Three years of commercial painting experience
High school diploma or GED
Completion of an industry-recognized apprenticeship program may substitute for up to two years of the experience requirement
Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) background investigation to access County detention facilities
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona drivers license by the time of hire

Job Contributions
Clean and prep surfaces for painting
Paint doors frames railings fencing and cabinets
Paint texture and repair wall surfaces baseboards vinyl cove bases and ceilings
Operate a barcode reader for time management and input parts from inventory into Maximo
Estimate jobs and materials
Graffiti removal clean building systems and equipment and perform HAZMAT control of old paint/painting products disposal
Stripe parking lots and paint/stencil temporary signage
Supervise inmates in County facilities and may be asked to perform other trades activities such as carpentry plumbing and general maintenance. Operate power hand tools and shop equipment
Other job duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally 10 - 25 pounds frequently or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly
The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties and responsibilities the employee may be exposed to loud noise noxious odors unsanitary conditions chemicals electricity moving mechanical parts varying weather conditions and other related conditions and situations. Position is subject to atmospheric conditions: Fumes odors dust mists gases or poor ventilation
This position may require a rotating on-call/stand-by schedule including nights weekends and holidays
Protective equipment required
Must be capable of using various forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required to fulfill the requirements of the position
Special working environments include but are not limited to
Adult and juvenile detention facilities medical facilities both detention and public health forensics courts and related justice facilities
