Job Duties
Primary Duties:
Ø Process committee reports received from Committee Operations
Ø Compile daily committee reports for the House Journal
Ø Process House bill jackets (engrossing) on Second Reading
Ø Check accuracy of vote statements posted to the Legislative Information System (LIS)
Ø Check accuracy of co-patrons posted to LIS
Shared and/or Other Responsibilities:
Set up front desk for daily Session
Proofread legislation to ensure accurate titles chief patrons co-patrons and committee referrals for printed legislation and LIS
Help check House Communication
Process and proofread information for the election of Judges and the transmittal of that information to designated parties
Assist in preparing editing and proofreading information for the House Journal website and other legislative materials
Strive to be a professional with integrity show mutual respect toward colleagues and others and contribute toward achieving unlimited success for the Clerks Office and entire House of Delegates
Perform other tasks as assigned or deemed necessary
Minimum Qualifications
Excellent written and oral communication skills and proofreading ability
o Appropriate technology skills
Additional Considerations
This is a seasonal/hourly position for the 2026 Session of the House of Delegates. The position is on site and located in downtown Richmond at the State Capitol. The employment dates are January 8 2026 - April 30 2026.
