Job Summary

SG2 is supporting a federal government contractor seeking an AI Engineer with TS/SCI clearance for opening located at the Pentagon in Arlington Virginia. You will be working with a proprietary generative AI platform designed specifically to support mission and operational related initiatives.

What You Will Be Doing:

Designing and implementing AI solutions from first prototype to mission-ready systems.
Embedding with customers and serving as a trusted technical thought partner to mission stakeholders.
Guiding the adoption and integration of AI solutions that accelerate decisions uncover anomalies and deliver measurable impact.
Prototyping and building generative AI systems and pipelines using Python TypeScript or comparable stacks.
Translating customer mission needs into actionable technical approaches and delivering production-ready applications.
Scoping projects removing blockers and making informed trade-offs between speed scope and quality.
Writing and reviewing software across backend and full-stack environments.
Capturing reusable workflows best practices and lessons learned into playbooks tools and building blocks that can be scaled.
Sharing field insights with product and research teams to guide the evolution of generative AI capabilities and deployment patterns.

What You Will Need:

Active TS/SCI security clearance
Ability to work on-site at the Pentagon in Arlington VA
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Data Science or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
5 years of engineering or technical deployment experience DoD or IC environments.
Hands-on experience building and deploying applications that integrate AI large language models (LLMs) APIs and data pipelines.
Strong programming proficiency in Python and modern full-stack development environments (e.g. JavaScript/TypeScript MEAN ).
Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS Azure or GCP and CI/CD tools like Docker Kubernetes and Terraform.
Ability to deliver in fast-moving ambiguous contexts while maintaining technical clarity and customer alignment.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

Its a Plus If You Have This:

Masters degree in Computer Science Data Science or a related technical field.
Experience deploying systems powered by generative AI (LLMs retrieval-augmented generation Model Context Protocol) in mission-critical settings.
Proven experience scoping and delivering complex systems under tight timelines.
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices CI/CD pipelines and secure software development for government environments.
