Job Summary

AECOMs Enterprise Capabilities team has an immediate opportunity available for a Hydraulic Engineer III for employment in Bogota Colombia. 

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and design for diverse projects.
  • Develop floodplain inundation and stormwater models.
  • Conduct scour calculations and design mitigation measures.
  • Design and assess linear infrastructure and site drainage systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Execute stormwater runoff modeling and drainage design for urban and rural settings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hydrologic and hydraulic solutions into broader project designs.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in hydrology and hydraulic modeling.
  • Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design
  • elements for engineering works. 
  • Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

Qualifications :

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering or a related field with  4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design.
  • Proficiency in software such as HEC-RAS HEC-HMS SWMM ARCGIS CIVIL3D or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
