Job Summary

AECOM is hosting an exclusive invitation-only hiring event in Chicago IL November 20-21. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026.

The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects career paths and the company itself. Youll also have the chance to meet other students recent graduates and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Friday interviews will take place at our Chicago office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to be based in the Chicago IL office.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Support technical design (will be exposed to design work).
  • Provide support to internal project managers and engineers by assisting with project administration.
  • Assist with the preparation of design review presentations with MS PowerPoint.
  • Attend review meetings keep minutes and record action item tracking worksheets.
  • Perform or support design verification and checkout activities.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelors degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelors degree and plan to continue with a masters degree are eligible to apply for these positions.  Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelors degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of MS Project skills.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of electrical design power distribution systems and relay protection.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components and characteristics.
  • Advanced level of Excel and Word skills.
  • PowerPoint experience required.
