AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to be based in Arlington VA.
This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026.
Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering design and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Build analytic and design skills.
- Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Create designs calculations sketches diagrams schematic drawings and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Collect and analyze data including field surveys under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under an experienced engineer.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Architectural Engineering or related field and must have completed at least two of years of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelors degree and plan to continue with the Masters degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelors degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
- Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Prior internship experience utilizing drafting surveying and/or construction administration skills.
- Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD electrical simulation software (SKM ETAP etc.) or lighting calculation programs (AGi32).
Additional Information :
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
- This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes office work in Arlington VA. The selected candidate must be available to work in Arlington VA.
