Were exploring low latency realtime audio streaming from embedded medical devices to web clients so clinicians can remotely hear device audio (e.g. fetal heart sounds) in near real time. This solution enables nurses and doctors to view patient data remotely via a web interface reducing hardware costs and improving accessibility. WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) is an open-source technology that enables real-time peer-to-peer communication between browsers and devices without requiring plugins.
This project aims to explore the feasibility of using WebRTC to stream audio between an embedded Linux device and a web browser. The intern will investigate both local network scenarios and cloud-based communication through NATs firewalls and TURN servers.
