Job Description
The Department of English Language and Literature at Weber State University invites applications for a Non-Tenure Track Instructor of Composition. Candidates will be expected to teach first-year courses in composition and second-year courses in General Education. We seek a candidate who demonstrates a strong commitment to undergraduate education and the needs of a varied student body in the context of an open-enrollment public university. Expectations for this position include teaching undergraduate courses providing service to the department college and university and a commitment to student success. The expected start date for this position is July 1 2026. The teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Overload for summer teaching is available as necessitated by enrollment trends.

Required Qualifications MA in Composition Rhetoric Writing Studies English or a related field. Evidence of teaching effectiveness
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications PhD in English Composition Writing Studies or related field Two (2) or more years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level Experience teaching in face-to-face hybrid and online environments
