The Opportunity:
Were looking for a 12 month contract Research Analyst to collect clear actionable insights about the biotech industry relevant to our platform. Youll help us connect market opportunities to our science by researching competitive landscapes and identifying potential partners based on our scientific platform. The ideal candidate is resourceful has hands-on research experience and strong synthesis skills. You should be able to leverage a wide array of tools to quickly survey a large volume of information and efficiently unearth key takeaways. You should have enough direct scientific experience to contextualize our research against the broader biotech landscape.
Youll work in a fast iterative way: framing questions with us assessing publicly available information securing non-public information as needed and turning results into crisp actionable reports.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with our co-founders to define key questions and research plans.
- Obtain information from a wide array of sources; evaluate the need for building/buying non-public datasets conducting expert interviews etc.
- Deliver concise artifacts: market maps competitive scans written reports and other deliverables across relevant segments (companies tools technologies and any other relevant areas) with recommendations and next steps.
- Maintain a tidy research repository (data sources notes interview summaries) and ensure scientific and analytical rigor by checking with SMEs as needed.
Experience
- Enough scientific background to understand our research across multiple disciplines; advanced degree in the life sciences or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated end-to-end research skills: scoping data collection modeling and synthesis.
- Strong analytical chops (spreadsheet modeling basic statistics) and comfort documenting assumptions and limits.
- Understanding of relevant research ecosystems and private-sector dynamics (e.g. venture capital tooling vendors etc).
- Excellent communication; able to turn complex inputs into clear decision-ready narratives and slides; collaborative and detail-oriented.
