Local Unit & Position Description

Become part of DNV and work at the heart of the Maritime industry. We are a leading classification society providing services related to the classification of ships and offshore units as well as certification of materials and components. Maritime Region Greater China is an important strategic pillar for DNV. Our Region covers Mainland China Hong Kong and Taiwan employing about 500 employees. And we are set for further growth.

We are seeking Approval Engineers for our Technical Center China located in Shanghai where we have opportunities across various technical disciplines including:

  • Review of machinery components/systems and pressure equipment documentation
  • Review of electrical control and monitoring system documentation
  • Strength analysis (including finite element analysis) and plan approval of hull structures for marine vessels
  • Review of hull piping machinery piping alternative fuel systems and cargo handling systems

Fresh university graduates with experience in structural strength mechanics machinery electrical engineering and related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

You are the ideal candidate if you:

  • Hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in ship engineering or equivalent
  • Possess hands-on (or first) experience in structural strength mechanics machinery electrical engineering and related disciplines
  • Demonstrate fluency in English both written and spoken
  • Exhibit strong customer service orientation with a positive and proactive attitude
  • Are self-motivated and solution-oriented
  • Enjoy trustful collaboration and building relationships
  • You can travel within China to support projects and attend customer meetings
