Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of complex products and components according to detailed specifications and engineering drawings
- Read and interpret technical documents including assembly instructions schematics and blueprints
- Utilize various hand tools power tools and specialized equipment to assemble adjust and test products
- Conduct quality checks throughout the assembly process to ensure products meet required standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve assembly-related issues identifying and reporting any defects or inconsistencies
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to improve assembly processes and product quality
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to all safety protocols and procedures
- Document assembly processes test results and any deviations from standard procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality
- Train and mentor junior assembly technicians as needed
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in mechanical and electrical assembly
- Proficiency in mechanical assembly techniques including fitting aligning and fastening components
- Strong electrical assembly skills including soldering wire harnessing and PCB assembly
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work with various tools and equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents including assembly drawings and schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot assembly issues
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree in Electronics Mechanical Technology or related field
- Experience with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures and handling sensitive components
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodology
- Knowledge of quality control systems and procedures
- Experience with automated assembly equipment
- Certification in specific assembly techniques or equipment operation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds
- Visual acuity to inspect small components and read detailed instructions
