An Outstanding Ofsted-rated Secondary School in Benwell with an established reputation for achieving high Science results and excellent staff CPD seeks a Chemistry Teacher for a Maternity Cover Part-Time (0.7 FTE) position commencing January 2026.
Compensation & Contract
- Job Title: Chemistry Teacher
- Contract: Maternity Cover Part-Time (0.7 FTE)
- Start Date: January 2026
- Salary: Pro-rata salary based on the Main/Upper Teachers Pay Scales (MPS/UPS).
The Role
- The successful Chemistry Teacher will plan and deliver high-quality engaging Chemistry lessons across Key Stages 3 4 (GCSE) and 5 (A-Level).
- You will be immediately supported by a highly effective mentor and integrated into a collaborative Science team to ensure a smooth transition during the cover period.
- The Chemistry Teacher is expected to contribute to the departments focus on deep conceptual understanding and rapid student progress in both practical and theoretical chemistry.
- This maternity cover role requires a committed Chemistry Teacher to maintain the departments exceptional outcomes.
- The school is seeking a skilled and experienced Chemistry Teacher who is ready to assume responsibility quickly.
- The appointed Chemistry Teacher will maintain a focus on tracking pupil progress ensuring exceptional outcomes for every student across all key stages.
Requirements
- Holds QTS
- Has the right to work in the UK
- Experience teaching KS3/4 and or KS5
