Job Overview The Government of Alberta is seeking a Service Transformation Consultant (STC) to support the digital transformation of public services. The role will focus on leading strategic service design and delivery initiatives including a major transformation within the Ministry of Education and Child Care (ECC).
This position involves working closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams to modernize service delivery using agile methods human-centred design and digital best practices.
Key Responsibilities -
Provide subject matter expertise on digital service delivery agile product development and organizational transformation.

Lead and support multi-disciplinary product and platform teams through all phases of the project lifecycle.

Advise and coach senior leadership on transformation-related changes (e.g. governance policy structure infrastructure and culture).

Develop and present strategic recommendations frameworks and models for executive decision-making.

Facilitate strategic planning sessions to align diverse stakeholders and create a shared vision for service transformation.

Support development of outcome-based metrics and performance indicators.
-
Design and implement support models for services post-launch.
-
Build digital capability and culture across government teams.
Requirements Must-Have Experience (Minimum 10 Years in Each): -
Agile software development and modern service design.

Working within a central public sector digital office.

Organizational development focused on digital service transformation.
Nice-to-Have Experience: -
Leading large-scale technology change initiatives.

Managing complex projects in organizations of similar scale.

Government-wide strategy development and implementation.
-
Advising senior executives and preparing high-level strategic options.
Additional Details
Location: Primarily Remote (Occasional travel within Alberta may be required)
Duration: 1-year contract with possible extension up to 24 months
Hours: Full-time (7.25 hours/day)
