Senior Electric Motor / Generator Winder Location: Concord Ontario
Job Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: 10 years Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electric Motor / Generator Winder to join our winding department specializing in the rewind refurbishment testing and assembly of AC and DC motors and generators up to 13.8KV. This is a hands-on role ideal for professionals who take pride in meticulous mechanical work and enjoy mentoring less experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rewind refurbish assemble and test AC/DC motors and generators including low medium and high voltage applications.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior winders and team members.

  • Support process design improvement and optimization in winding operations.

  • Participate in machinery installation commissioning and project management.

  • Supervise tradesmen in a unionized environment while maintaining productivity and safety standards.

  • Assist with production support troubleshooting and problem-solving for large custom electric motors generators and rotating machinery.

  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis for process or equipment improvements.

  • Support EHS initiatives including design of custom fall protection and system integration solutions.

  • Maintain a strong safety record and promote team safety awareness.

Required Qualifications
  • 10 years of hands-on experience in motor/generator winding and refurbishment.

  • Experience with AC low-voltage random windings; medium and high voltage experience is a plus.

  • Familiarity with DC armatures is a bonus.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to mentor and guide team members effectively.

  • Flexible and willing to work onsite with varying hours as needed.

  • Team-oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
