Executive Protection Specialist

Description -

The Executive Protection Specialist is responsible for physical security risk identification and mitigation for HP Inc. Reporting to the Director of Executive Protection the candidate will coordinate executive protection efforts at HP Inc. Headquarters in Palo Alto and within the Bay Area while working closely with site and regional teams for planning and execution. Its vital to have wide-ranging knowledge on relevant subject matters including residential security protective intelligence surveillance technologies theories and techniques. A successful candidate must have exceptional written and oral communications skills take initiative be a fast learner and be a highly motivated user of digital tools to accomplish objectives. The Executive Protection Specialist will assist in managing large events cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organizations long-term goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

o Provides close protection of executive members including developing assessing and implementing protection strategies and plans

o Provides guidance and interpretation about security standards practices and programs to support regional and global business and security initiatives

o Assesses security exposures and assists with implementing programs to address them influencing stakeholders as required

o Partakes in continuous Executive Protection training

o Maintains liaison with government industry and intelligence professionals

  • Occasionally brief Executives on geopolitical developments incidents and trends that could affect HPs business and personnel

o Routinely coordinates with HP Inc. Headquarters site security and Executive Protection Operations

o Responds to security emergencies

o Full-time in office with occasional nights and weekends

o Occasional travel up to 20% in support of key stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

o First-level university degree in Criminal Justice Security Law Enforcement or a related field of study or equivalent experience

o 7 years security experience including associations in law enforcement military intelligence and/or corporate experience. Must include small detail event security office security and residential security

o Possesses EP training and experience in the following specialties: team member detail leader primary and secondary vehicle driver (including armored vehicles) medical (First Aid CPR AED) vulnerability assessments and protective intelligence

o Eligible to obtain a Federal Air Marshal Service Armed Security Officer (ASO) certification

o Operational understanding and fluent usage of todays technology tools across all platforms (PC tablet smartphone-smartwatch radio satellite tracking device etc.)

o Must maintain up-to-date drivers license

o Valid current passport

o Ability to interact with senior management

o Be a poised leader and collaborator who gains support from all levels of the organization including senior executives

o Excellent follow-up skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task have leadership presence strong team-orientation and interpersonal skills flexibility and strong analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

o Experience managing security details in domestic and international locations both low and high risk

o Federal Government experience and accreditations

o 10 years of corporate experience and accreditations

Knowledge and Skills:

o Sound ethical judgment required

o Strong leadership skills including coaching mentoring and teaching

o Superior ability to use security systems and applications

o Excellent analytical skills. Ability to identify and mitigate complex security issues.

o Demonstrate ability to perform under pressure in complex situations

o Excellent interpersonal and communications skills including presentation reporting and consulting

o Thorough knowledge of criminal and civil procedure as it relates to evidence privacy interviewing and intellectual property protection

o Proven customer service and relationship management skills

o Excellent project management skills including planning execution and implementation.

o Abreast of industry and technology changes to ensure security programs minimize emerging risks. Established range of professional contacts. Familiar with the range of professional security literature

o Practical knowledge of the current security environment in multiple geographies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $200000 - $250000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge skills and experience.
