We are seeking a Network Specialist to support the design implementation and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure for a major reinsurance client. This role requires a strong foundation in networking principles adaptability across technologies and the ability to work in a dynamic global environment. The role is fully remote anywhere in Romania.
Responsibilities:
- Design implement and support LAN/WAN VPN and wireless network solutions.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security cloud and infrastructure.
- Participate in network upgrades migrations and transformation initiatives.
- Maintain documentation for network configurations diagrams and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with client-specific security and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in enterprise network engineering or support roles.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP BGP OSPF EIGRP MPLS etc.).
- Experience with network hardware (e.g. Cisco Juniper Aruba Fortinet etc.).
- Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g. SolarWinds Wireshark).
- Ability to work with cloud networking (AWS Azure or GCP) is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNA CCNP JNCIA CompTIA Network) - nice to have.
- Experience in regulated industries such as finance or insurance - nice to have.
- Exposure to SD-WAN network automation or software-defined networking (SDN) - nice to have.
