Job Overview:
Youll be instrumental in optimizing the financial operations of a healthcare practice ensuring smooth billing processes and positive patient experiences. This role offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in medical billing while directly impacting both practice revenue and patient satisfaction. Youll work with cutting-edge healthcare software systems and have the potential to expand into broader financial responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate patient deductibles and determine appropriate collection amounts especially during year-end resets
- Process and follow up on insurance claims to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials
- Support billing operations during critical periods when insurance deductibles reset
- Handle patient account inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies with accuracy and empathy
- Assist with administrative tasks including email management and patient communications
- Maintain detailed records and documentation for compliance and audit purposes
- Potentially expand responsibilities to include bookkeeping and financial reporting
- Collaborate with practice staff to ensure seamless patient financial experiences
Requirements
- Experience with medical billing and insurance processes
- Familiarity with practice management software (OpenPM experience preferred)
- Knowledge of EMR systems (EMD experience preferred)
- Understanding of healthcare deductibles and insurance claims
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial matters
- Preferably had HIPAA training or certification
