Job Summary

Senior Accountant Consolidation (CPA)

Strategic accounting opportunity in the mining industry supporting financial consolidation for a global organization. Leverage your CPA designation IFRS expertise and consolidation experience in a high-impact role based in Montreal. Hybrid schedule with bilingual responsibilities and a strong international scope.

What is in it for you:

Salaried: $60-69 per hour.

Incorporated Business Rate: $70-80 per hour.

6-month contract position.

Full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

Additional hours expected during month-end and year-end close.

Hybrid work with a minimum of 3 in-office days per week at a downtown Montréal office.

Responsibilities:

Participate in the monthly consolidation of global product groups.

Analyze consolidated financial statements to ensure compliance with IFRS and internal requirements.

Provide financial reporting to senior management.

Deliver HFM guidance and accounting advice to improve performance within the controllership and finance service teams.

Ensure Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) compliance and support SOX/substantive audit processes.

Guide and train internal and offshore teams on reporting processes.

Conduct training sessions and support continuous knowledge sharing.

Drive innovation and process improvements using data analytics and digital tools.

Collaborate with global teams across different time zones.

What you will need to succeed:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

Accounting certification CPA or equivalent.

8 years of experience in financial consolidation within a multinational multi-currency environment.

Strong understanding of IFRS.

Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is an asset.

Experience preparing consolidated statements of cash flows is an asset.

Knowledge of accounting for financial assets and liabilities is an asset.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities including variance analysis.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to manage pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Ability to work across global teams and time zones.

Bilingual in English and French to communicate effectively with both local and international stakeholders and to review and prepare financial reports in both languages.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

SAP experience is beneficial.
