A globally recognized financial services firm is seeking an Operational Risk Manager / Advisory Business Partner to join its high-performing Risk function in Houston TX.
As a market leader in interdealer broking energy & commodities and OTC data solutions this firm connects clients to superior liquidity and insights across global financial markets. Now its looking for a strategic collaborative risk expert to support continued growth and build a best-in-class risk culture.
About the Role
As a Risk Advisory Business Partner youll work closely with senior stakeholders to identify assess and manage operational and strategic risks. You will bring meaningful insight and challenge to business decisions enhance risk reporting support change initiatives and help drive resilience through continuity planning and training.
This is a hybrid position ideal for a commercially minded professional with a strong risk background and cross-functional communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Advise on business risks across both BAU and strategic change (e.g. M&A new products initiatives)
Define and monitor risk appetite KRIs and escalation thresholds
Conduct RCSAs scenario analysis and thematic deep dives
Provide oversight on operational events policy breaches and issue remediation
Support risk reporting to senior leadership and committees
Drive training awareness and risk culture initiatives
Oversee business continuity planning and crisis management activities
Ideal Candidate Profile
7 years in operational risk within a financial institution (IDB or Capital Markets experience preferred)
In-depth knowledge of energy & commodities markets; exposure to algo/electronic trading a plus
Familiarity with Americas regulatory frameworks
Strong interpersonal analytical and stakeholder management skills
Bachelors degree or equivalent; professional certifications advantageous
Self-starter with a commercial mindset and passion for building smarter risk frameworks
Compensation
$110000 $115000
