The senior accountant will be responsible for accounting financial reporting and tax filings Month and quarterly close activities and perform assigned reconciliations. You are an expert in the field of accounting and focus on the internal financial reports. You will be required to apply your problem solving skills and look beyond our existing processes and procedures. You will drive continuous process improvement initiatives and foster a service culture and communications with stakeholders. You are a team player who is helping out other members and giving guidance and training of juniors and peers in their day-to-day tasks in order to improve the quality of process controls and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Direct monitor and review the daily accounting function back office and shared administration services departments which include accounts payable accounts receivable payroll cash administration and general ledger
Work closely and cooperate with business departments in the collection of financial data
Perform weekly spot checks on P&L and balance sheet performed by shared administration services departments which include accounts payable accounts receivable payroll cash administration and general ledger
Report to the Team Lead R2R highlighting and summaries any bottlenecks
Weekly follow-up on pending issues and escalation
Provide ad-hoc analyses and summaries of information when requested
Prepare and review local tax filings for several entities; support other tax compliance activities and be in close contact with the Tax Manager
Create and maintain the balance sheet register
Prepare and review monthly and quarterly reconciliations
Realize accurate and timely monthly quarterly and year-end close processes and the preparation of internal reporting in accordance with local accounting rules
Work close with financial controllers to assure month-end closing processes are complete and accurate and serve as a direct point of contact for financial controllers about accounting and internal report queries for assigned entities
Ensure that the shared service administration team delivers successfully and continuously improves our process in line with our accounting strategy
Developing and training of mediors juniors and peers in their day-to-day tasks in order to improve the quality of process controls and reporting
Identify opportunities for improvements and opportunities for standardization
Recommend new approaches policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of the department and services performed
Lead in Finance Transformation projects for GL team


Qualifications / skills
Bsc or Msc in Finance / Accounting / Economics
Structured organized and able to work under pressure
Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central 365 is an advantage
A s this is a new role an entrepreneurial mindset is important being proactive flexible and independent is a must
Fluent in English Dutch or French is a plus

Location:
Voorschoten Support Office. Hybrid working is possivle on average twice a week in the office. No fully remote.
