The Clinical Research Assistant in the Department of Internal Medicine Division of Physical Activity & Weight Management will contribute to research focused on exercise and physical activity to advance studies on obesity treatment and related chronic health conditions such as cardiovascular disease diabetes and kidney disease.Job Description:
Job Duties:
Serve as an exercise specialist to deliver intervention sessions related to exercise and physical activity according to research study protocols.
Assist with conducting outcome testing that may include vital signs anthropometric measurements and body composition cardiorespiratory fitness strength physical function and others.
Schedule participants for research intervention sessions.
Assist with recruitment enrollment and retention activities of participants.
Maintain accurate and detailed participant records through timely documentation and data entry in compliance with university policies and applicable standards.
Complete required research trainings and maintain compliance with institutional retraining policies.
Adhere to all research protocols and comply with ethical guidelines and institutional regulations.

Work Environment
Morning or evening hours may be required based on study responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
Work Experience: Two years relevant work experience. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications/Licenses:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Professional certification related to exercise or physical activity through an accredited entity.
Work Experience:
Experience working in a clinical or research setting.
Experience supervising participants with exercise training in both one-on-one and group settings.

At the University of Kansas Medical Center a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
