Job Summary
Syngenta seeks a skilled Control / Electrical Engineering Technician to join our GFP maintenance team. This role involves delivering planned and reactive maintenance support across engineering disciplines performing fault diagnosis and implementing solutions to meet production demands. Youll identify equipment reliability issues analyse SAP and implement solutions to improve plant availability.
It is an exciting time to join GFP as we bring on board a new multi-million Seedcare Plant and implement new projects to improve plant availability in Formulations Filling and Packing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting engineering risk assessments
- Effective and prompt response to equipment failures
- Maintaining plant availability through planned engineering work
- Decide and implement improvements to increase plant reliability
- Coordinating with contractors and production teams
- Take responsibility for the development of your own skills and required competencies. This is critical for the role and support for GFP Filling and Packing (F & P) which requires PLC and specialist automated equipment training.
- Work closely with operations to minimise downtime and improve plant availability and production rates.
Qualifications :
- Electrical or Instrumentation core trade experience
- Willingness to develop automation skills (Fill and Pack)
- Understanding of COMAH and associated HSE standards
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Manage performance to ensure high standards
- Develop self and others
- Take ownership and co-ordinate multi-disciplinary tasks to deliver whole task
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to support production demands

The site was founded in 1919 and today employs nearly 400 skilled people in a variety of roles that include manufacturing engineering scientific and production support. Our goal is to operate safely reliably and cost effectively and to help growers protect their crops and increase their yield.
At Syngenta Grangemouth we have four plants dedicated to active ingredient (AI) manufacture and an existing finished product formulation and packaging plant along with a new Seedcare plant currently under construction with a completion date in 2026.
