CAD Technician

Were currently supporting a well-established engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Civil Technician to join their growing civil infrastructure team.

This is a senior technical role with real responsibility offering the chance to lead civil design delivery across a range of complex projects while mentoring junior staff and working closely with engineers and project managers.

The Role

As a Senior Civil Technician youll take a lead role in the production and coordination of detailed civil engineering designs primarily using Autodesk Civil 3D. Projects typically include site development roads drainage stormwater management and water & sewer utilities including pressurised systems for mission-critical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and produce high-quality civil designs and drawings in Civil 3D

• Develop 3D models grading designs and earthworks calculations

• Coordinate closely with engineers to deliver plans profiles and sections

• Carry out design QA/QC and ensure compliance with standards and regulations

• Manage drawing packages revisions and project documentation

• Review volume calculations for excavation and site grading

• Mentor and support junior technicians

• Contribute to project delivery within agreed scope budget and programme

About You

• Degree / HND / foundation degree in drafting or a related discipline

• 7 years experience in civil engineering design

• Advanced Civil 3D experience (Navisworks MS Office essential; Revit MicroStation or GIS beneficial)

• Strong understanding of civil design principles calculations and standards

• Confident working in a multi-disciplinary project environment
