Chief Data Officer Wholesale Banking (WB)
1. Role Summary
The Chief Data Officer (CDO) for Wholesale Banking is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the data agenda across INGs global WB organization. The CDO translates INGs enterprise-wide data strategy into actionable initiatives within WB ensuring data is managed as a strategic asset. This role leads the development and execution of WBs data strategy oversees key data programs and fosters a data-driven culture across all WB domains.
2. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Alignment & Translation
- Translate INGs enterprise data policies and frameworks into a tailored WB Data Strategy.
- Align WB data initiatives with INGs global data governance architecture and regulatory standards.
Program Leadership
- Initiate lead and oversee global data programs across WB (e.g. data quality metadata management data lineage data ownership).
- Drive implementation of data capabilities that support business growth operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary data liaison for WB senior leadership including Heads of Lending Transaction Services Financial Markets and Risk.
- Collaborate with global and local data stewards product owners and IT teams to ensure consistent data practices.
- Represent WB in cross-domain data governance bodies and enterprise data councils.
Data Culture & Enablement
- Promote data literacy and embed data-driven decision-making across WB.
- Champion the use of advanced analytics AI and data platforms to unlock business value.
3. Required Skills & Experience
Professional Experience
- 10 years in data management analytics or digital transformation within financial services.
- Proven experience in leading complex cross-border data programs.
- Strong understanding of Wholesale Banking products processes and regulatory landscape.
Leadership & Communication
- Strategic thinker with strong influencing skills across senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams in a matrixed environment.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks data architecture and tooling (e.g. Collibra Informatica Azure).
- Understanding of data privacy data ethics and regulatory requirements (e.g. BCBS 239 GDPR).
