Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) a member of the Texas A&M University System welcomes applicants for aClinical Assistant Professor of Nursing to beginSpring 2026.

TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 8000 students located in Laredo Texas a vibrant and bicultural city with a population of about 250000. The university advances knowledge through research and discovery teaching and learning community engagement and public service and with an intentional focus on student success and research excellence. Primary duties will includeteaching specialty didactic and clinical courses in PMHNP; supervising and assessing student clinical competencies and theoretical knowledge while supporting comprehensive learning experiences; evaluating students progress in course work and clinical experience; planning developing implementing and evaluating the curriculum as appropriate; completing all administrative aspects of courses taught; and advising/mentoring the next generation of PMHNPs. Duties also includeserving on and participating in college and university committees; and providing service to the community and profession. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

The successful candidate must hold anearned doctorate in nursing from an accredited university. ABDs will be considered but must have earned a doctorate before the appointment. PMHNP masters degree or post-graduate certificate in PMHNP from an accredited program; board certification as a PMHNP; a current unrestricted/unencumbered license to practice registered nursing within the State of Texas; and two or more years experience treating patients as a PMHNP are required. We strongly encourage candidates with have one or more years of teaching experience in higher education.
