SALARY:$23.66 - $32.75 Per Hour(Range G) based on salary schedule 2024-2025 pending negotiations

JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT/S:The position of School Lead Secretary MS is done for the purpose/s of providing clerical support to school site administrative functions; conveying information regarding school and/or District functions and procedures; ensuring compliance with financial legal and administrative requirements of assigned functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Administer first aid and medication to students for the purpose of meeting their immediate heath care needs.
- Compose documents (e.g. correspondence agendas minutes bulletins reports etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel the public state officials etc.
- Evaluate situations (e.g. involving other staff students parents the public etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Monitor assigned activities and/or program components (e.g. attendance program budget time sheets etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with financial legal and/or administrative requirements.
- Oversee work assignments of others (e.g. volunteers students) for the purpose of providing orientation and meeting operational requirements.
- Prepare written materials (e.g. brochures newsletters etc.) for the purpose of conveying information regarding school and/or district activities and procedures.
- Process documents and materials (e.g. schedules agendas mail permanent pupil cards cumulative folders etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
- Reconcile cash accounts as assigned for the purpose of maintaining accurate balances and complying with accounting practices.
- Perform receptionist work for a large office; receives telephone calls screens calls as to appropriate person/office for routing; receives and directs office visitors; responds to general inquiries for information and assistance.
- Respond to inquiries of staff the public parents and/or students for the purpose of providing information and/or direction as may be required.
- Supervise students for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Support principal and/or other school administrative personnel for the purpose of providing assistance with their administrative functions.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Attend meetings assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Register new students and enter data into computer.
- Sort district and US postal mail.
- Handle funds for the purpose of processing student fees sale of products etc.
- Supervise student workers for the purpose of ensuring appropriate class credit and/or learning experience.
REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience Preferred:Prior job related experience with increasing responsibility.
- Skills Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:
Skills to operate standard office equipment including use of basic computer applications use English in both written and verbal form use correct spelling grammar and punctuation telephone etiquette administer first aid.
Knowledge of rules and regulations related to assigned school basic budgeting financial and statistical record keeping standard office equipment.
Abilities to sit for prolonged periods work independently understand and carry out oral and written instructions interact with persons of different age groups and cultural backgrounds. Significant physical abilities include reaching/ handling/ fingering bending/lifting up to 20 pounds talking/hearing conversation near visual acuity/visual accommodation. Some positions require exposure to bodily fluids in assisting student with using rest rooms and in tending to injuries and illness.
Ability to speak a second language preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:High School diploma or equivalent.
TESTING REQUIRED:Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance (applicant agrees to assume cost upon offer of employment) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid Certificates.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards Policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
