Dorchester County Public Schools is currently accepting applications for Substitute Bus Drivers.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate a Dorchester County School Bus;
- Maintain regular paperwork associated with transporting students;
- Perform Pre and Post trip inspections of buses;
- Monitor student while bus is in transit;
- Maintain cleanliness of bus;
- Assist with transportation of bus to garage for service as needed;
- Attend necessary training classes;
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a State high school equivalence certificate;
- Must be currently certified as a Maryland School Bus Driver;
- Meet all Motor Vehicle Administration and State Department of Education requirements for school vehicle drivers;
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Dorchester County Public Schools does participate in the Maryland Healthy Working Families Maryland Healthy Working Families Act (MHWFA) requires Dorchester County Public Schools to provide one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours that an employee works subject to the provisions of the Act. The paid sick leave is paid outeach monthduring the school year.
