M&J is seeking a Construction Project Scheduler to provide critical scheduling planning and project controls support for WMATAs ongoing and upcoming capital improvement maintenance and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed resource-loaded schedules for construction engineering and maintenance projects in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Monitor project progress identify potential schedule impacts and prepare Time Impact Analysis (TIA) to assess delays and suggest mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with project managers engineers and contractors to ensure that project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) to assess project performance and provide accurate reporting of schedule cost and resource utilization.
- Analyze project delays and work with stakeholders to develop and submit delay claims and change orders as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual scheduling requirements including timely submittal of baseline and updated schedules.
- Provide risk assessments and recommend corrective actions to avoid delays or overruns.
- Work with project managers and stakeholders to define project milestones deliverables dependencies and critical paths.
- Monitor schedule progress and perform variance analysis to identify delays risks and recovery strategies.
- Prepare weekly monthly and quarterly reports summarizing schedule status forecasts and performance metrics
- Coordinate with cost estimators and financial analysts to align schedules with project budgets and forecasts.
- Regularly communicate schedule updates and changes to the project team and relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in project review meetings and provide scheduling expertise to support decision-making.
- Attend required meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelors degree in engineering Construction Management or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in construction scheduling specifically with Primavera P6.
- Proficiency in SQL Excel (advanced) and data manipulation/cleansing techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
- Experience supporting transportation government or public sector clients (WMATA experience is highly desirable).
- Knowledge of WMATAs systems KPIs and operational data frameworks.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP).
