Description
Mill Hand is responsible for operating a Bridgeport or ProtoTRAK Milling Machine. This role involves setting up operating and maintaining manual and CNC-controlled milling machines to produce precision metal parts according to engineering specifications.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate Bridgeport manual mills and/or ProtoTRAK CNC milling machines.
- Interpret and work from blueprints drawings and job travelers to ensure parts meet required tolerances and specifications.
- Select install and adjust proper cutting tools fixtures and machine attachments.
- Perform machine setups offsets and tool changes as required.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers micrometers height gauges etc.)
- Maintain quality standards by verifying dimensions and making necessary adjustments.
- Perform routine maintenance and keep machines and work area clean and organized.
- Collaborate with engineers supervisors and other machinists to improve efficiency and part quality.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- technical training 1
- 2 years of experience operating Bridgeport or ProtoTRAK milling machines (manual or CNC).
- Strong understanding of machining practices feeds speeds and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T symbols.
- Experience using measuring tools and performing in-process inspections.
- Basic knowledge of programming a ProtoTRAK.
- Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
