Job Summary
Mesh Bioplastics unites advanced biopolymers with precision AI for smart circular manufacturing to eliminate waste in plastics production and healthcare.
Were building a next-generation industrial AI platform that transforms how factories operate.
This is an opportunity to join at the ground floor as Co-Founder & CTO leading the entire technical vision of a globally scalable SaaS platform already backed by customer pilot commitments and major infrastructure support.
Tasks
Your Mission
- Architect and own the full technical stack IoT ML cloud and platform.
- Build the applied AI layer that will power real-time optimisation intelligent automation and compliance.
- Design and implement a robust scalable and secure architecture that can be deployed across global manufacturing.
- Recruit and lead a world-class engineering team as the platform scales.
- Collaborate closely with the founding team to shape strategy IP protection and commercial rollout.
Core Expertise
AI/ML Architecture
- Predictive modelling real-time optimisation reinforcement learning anomaly detection.
- Feature engineering and model lifecycle management (training versioning inference at the edge).
- ML Ops and scalable production deployment.
IoT & Edge Connectivity
- Industrial communication protocols (MQTT OPC UA Modbus or similar).
- Edge buffering secure connectivity and streaming architecture.
- Ability to integrate with both smart and legacy industrial equipment.
Platform & Backend
- Python (FastAPI or equivalent) containerized deployments high-availability architecture.
- Event-driven design multi-tenant SaaS security scalable API frameworks.
- Role-based access control and authentication frameworks.
Data & Frontend
- Real-time visualisation and dashboards (Streamlit React or similar).
- Data pipeline design for high-volume streaming environments.
- Clear intuitive interfaces for industrial operators and decision-makers.
Cloud & DevOps
- Deep experience with AWS CI/CD infrastructure as code.
- Security-first architecture observability high uptime design.
- Scalable deployment strategies and cloud cost optimization.
Bonus
- Background in industrial automation or manufacturing systems.
- Experience integrating ESG/CSRD reporting and sustainability data.
- Prior CTO or CAIO experience in a high-growth startup.
- Ability to build edge solutions.
- Previous work with AI-driven optimisation platforms or real-time control systems.
Requirements
Requirements (Experience Qualifications & Skills)
- World class operator!
- 8 years of experience in software engineering with at least 4 years in AI/ML system design and architecture.
- Proven track record of architecting and delivering industrial production-grade AI/ML platforms.
- Hands-on experience with IoT connectivity (MQTT OPC UA Modbus or similar) and edge computing.
- Strong expertise in Python FastAPI SQLAlchemy containerized deployments and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Demonstrable experience in real-time data ingestion ML Ops and model lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with ESG/CSRD reporting frameworks and/or integrating sustainability KPIs.
- Strong architectural mindset with ability to scale a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
- Proven leadership skills experience leading technical teams ideally as a CTO CAIO or senior AI architect in a high-growth environment.
- Comfortable working in a founder role taking ownership for the development to full-scale platform.
