Job Title: Process Engineer Job Location : Frankfort KY Job type : Full-time On-site
The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving plant production operations in alignment with defined business plans. The role demands a proactive approach in fostering teamwork applying technical expertise and utilizing problem-solving strategies to address complex manufacturing challenges.
Key Responsibilities

Identify develop and implement production improvements using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles with a focus on variation reduction and scrap minimization.

Contribute to strategic capital investment and budgeting projects.
-
Optimize machine layouts and conduct time studies to enhance productivity and ergonomic safety.
-
Oversee RFQ (Request for Quotation) and Design Review processes for new projects.
-
Ensure compliance with quality standards and department objectives serving as a key resource for quality problem-solving.
-
Build collaborative relationships with employees and management to promote effective teamwork and communication.
-
Implement and maintain systems that prevent recurrence of known manufacturing issues.
-
Motivate train and develop operators and team members standardizing work methods and documenting processes including SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
-
Achieve company-defined productivity improvement goals through Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.

Interpret technical drawings and coordinate profitable improvement plans (PIP).
-
Create new items Bills of Materials (BOM) and production routing in ERP systems maintaining updated documentation.
-
Manage and implement 4M changes (Man Machine Material Method) and coordinate project teams/interns as required.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Industrial or Process Engineering (or related field).
-
Minimum of 3 years experience in the automotive or a related industry including familiarity with specification requirements.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience writing/maintaining SOPs.
-
Strong understanding and application of FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) Lean Six Sigma and PDCA methodology.
-
Demonstrated ability to read technical drawings and apply Kaizen principles to production and maintenance operations.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
-
Ability to sit stand walk grip/hold and communicate effectively.
-
Capable of occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs and frequently up to 25 lbs.
-
Must adjust focus and perform tasks requiring close vision.
-
Will work in an environment exposed to moving mechanical parts airborne particles and occasional vibration.
-
Noise level is generally quiet.
