Job Summary

Black & Grey HR is partnering with one of the worlds leading meat processing companies to find a proactive Electrical Maintenance Engineer for their operations in Melbourne Australia. The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation maintenance and performance of all electrical systems and equipment across the facility. This includes managing both reactive and preventive maintenance activities diagnosing faults implementing corrective actions and driving continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.

Key Responsibilities
- Attend to electrical breakdowns and service requests promptly to minimize disruption to operations.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections and ensure all systems remain in optimal condition.
- Oversee electrical installations repairs and maintenance activities ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with supervisors and operations teams to plan and coordinate maintenance tasks effectively.
- Track analyze and resolve issues arising from both planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
- Maximize equipment uptime by performing scheduled electrical maintenance during non-operational hours.
- Maintain tools testing devices and work equipment in proper safe working order.
- Support maintenance projects and improvement initiatives as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with company policies procedures and statutory safety regulations.
- Apply advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and rectify electrical faults efficiently.
- Monitor the performance reliability and availability of plant assets implementing corrective and preventive measures as needed.
- Participate in inspections rebuilds and repair work to verify adherence to technical specifications and standards.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and technical documentation updates.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Maintenance Management team.


Requirements

- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical maintenance within food manufacturing or process plant environments.
- Strong expertise in fault diagnosis root cause analysis and electrical troubleshooting.
- Proficient in motor control systems and variable frequency drives (Danfoss Allen-Bradley).
- Working knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens and Allen-Bradley).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices and high-quality workmanship.
- Strong attention to detail initiative and ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
- Flexible with work hours including emergency call-outs or scheduled maintenance during off-hours.
- Solid understanding of maintenance planning scheduling and quality control techniques.

Required Skills:

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering - Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in factory operations process improvement or product development. - English: Business proficiency required - In-depth knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance principles. - Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook). - Familiarity with financial KPIs and cost optimization strategies. - Strong command of Six Sigma tools PDCA SDCA and other problem-solving methodologies. - Proficient in statistical analysis predictive analytics and data correlation. - Experience in documentation management and cross-functional coordination.
