Project Manager Lead Renewables

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager Lead for our growing Renewable Department within the US Energy Practice. AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States.

Our team provides a wide range of services across markets sectors including transmission (substations overhead and underground transmission systems generator interconnections interconnection strategy) renewable generation (Solar PV Battery Energy Storage Systems Wind) power distribution (overhead and underground power systems EV charging networks microgrid design etc.) next generation energy (fuel cells etc.) as well as advanced nuclear.

We seek a project professional able to manage the design process from the project basis of design stage through the issuance of deliverables ensuring seamless coordination between internal and external stakeholders.

This position requires a strong understanding of engineering design interconnection utility markets and construction processes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to lead matrixed design teams and manage client-approved engineering consultants.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Supervision and Operations Support
• Support Department Manager in advancing the culture of customer service excellence and accountability
• Supervise and mentor a team of project managers through their individual and team development for greater utility to the organization and overall career satisfaction
• Lead improvements in project efficiencies by creating updating and implementing group specific standards/templates
• Responsible for teams forecast management and tracking
• Proposal support / capture leadership to support business development activities
• Identify project opportunities early and facilitate go/no-go decisions determine project fees write proposals prepare and lead client presentations and negotiation of contracts
• Client development through existing contracts/relationships including managing key accounts and developing new accounts
• Actively support recruiting efforts
• Support projects through complete life cycle including the feasibility phase preliminary and detailed design issue-for-bid construction start-up and commissioning

Project participation:

• Responsible for the management of assigned projects; Function as the project manager / program manager
• Take ownership of internal project financials staffing legal coordination and risk management.
• Facilitate planning and kickoff meetings to ensure alignment among all project stakeholders.
• Oversee the design process including conducting page-turn design reviews and equipment fabrication reviews at key project milestones (30% 60% and 100% design completion).
• Work closely with the technical delivery team (incl subcontractors) to confirm deliverables and services are being provided to exceed clients satisfaction. This includes coordination with team members across the world
• Deliver projects in accordance with the AECOM QMS process

Level Specific Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
• Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers enforces company and project policies and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.
• Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
• Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned project.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

• BS/BA degree 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Project Management experience directly related to renewable engineering projects
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex projects and/or programs with high quality on schedule and within scope and budget

Preferred Qualifications:

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Professional Engineering Licensure (PE)
• 15 Years of relevant experience including project management program management engineering of renewables
• Experience in managing projects worked in collaborative model environments (e.g. Navisworks)
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with facilitating design reviews and equipment fabrication reviews.
• Demonstrated success working in a remote team environment
