Job Summary
Adelphi is seeking a qualified professional to provide Visual Impairment Services to students ensuring they receive appropriate support for their educational needs at a school in Mission Texas. The ideal candidate will have the skills to support students with visual impairments assisting them in reaching their full academic potential.

Requirements:
Masters degree and a valid Texas Education Agency certification for a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI)
Proven experience working with K-12 students in a public-school setting
Ability to communicate in English and Spanish is preferred
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support for students with visual impairments ensuring it aligns with their IEPs
Adapt instructional materials to meet the needs of students with visual impairments including Braille and tactile materials
Provide assistive technology recommendations and training for students and staff
Collaborate with other school staff to ensure integration of visual impairment support across the curriculum
Attend ARD meetings to update IEPs evaluate progress and make recommendations
Maintain accurate records of services provided including therapy logs progress reports and evaluations
Assist with the selection and use of specialized equipment and technology
Provide direct and indirect support for students as they integrate into the general education setting
Complete SHARS billing for each student if applicable
Ensure that all services comply with local state and federal regulations governing special education
Any other duties as assigned.
