Adelphi is seeking qualified professionals to provide Orientation and Mobility Services to students in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) at a school in Mission Texas. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to assist students with visual impairments in navigating their educational environment safely and independently.

Requirements:
Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Orientation and Mobility
Certification from the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP)
Proven experience working with K-12 students in a public-school setting
Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred
Responsibilities:
Provide direct and indirect support for students with visual impairments following their IEPs
Assess students orientation and mobility needs and develop tailored training plans
Teach students to navigate the school environment using adaptive techniques and assistive technology
Monitor student progress and adjust mobility training strategies as necessary
Collaborate with school staff including teachers and administrators to meet students needs
Attend and participate in ARD meetings and provide updates on student progress
Maintain logs of services provided and submit progress reports
Assist in the development and implementation of IEPs evaluations and reports using the SuccessED system
Provide recommendations for mobility equipment if applicable
Ensure compliance with local state and federal laws related to special education services
Complete SHARS billing for each student as applicable
Any other duties as assigned.
