Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the ICU provides skilled nursing care to critically ill patients. This role involves patient assessments medication administration treatment planning and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. The RN must be capable of floating within their scope of practice to meet facility needs.

Responsibilities:

- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the ICU.
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (Cerner).
- Float to other units within scope of practice as needed.
- Assist patients in their routine activities of daily living.
- Collect patient data and specimens.
- Assist patient care team by performing and explaining designated patient care procedures.
- Answer unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Perform data entry into electronic medical database systems.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in ICU.
- BLS ACLS and NIHSS certifications.
- Clinical Assessment Medication Administration and Treatment Planning skills.
- Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Local candidates preferred (within 75 miles of the facility).
Special Considerations:

- Mandatory float facility; resources are required to float at the facilitys discretion.
- Every other weekend/ 2 weekends per month required.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue (not provided).
- Level 1 Trauma Center.
Scheduling:
- 3x12s 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM shifts.
- No block scheduling.
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
- RTO: 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive. No holiday RTO. No RTO the day prior or after a holiday. No RTO on weekends.
