Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will work in a mixed acuity unit consisting of PCU MS Tele and MS patients. The role requires PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years. The nurse will provide care to patients with various diagnoses including surgical pre and post-operative patients and will utilize EPIC Pyxis and SBAR systems for medication documentation and communication.

Responsibilities:

- Provide care for PCU and MS Tele patients.
- Care for Surgical pre and post patients; ENT general Surgery Trauma surgery Ortho surgery.
- Manage overflow medical diagnosis patients.
- Care for rare Pediatric patient Travelers not assigned unless experienced.
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Post MI
- IV insulin protocols
- Titration of Insulin drips
- Feeding tube care and management
- Continuous Bladder Irrigation
- Renal failure
- Accessing Ports
- Blood Product Administration
- Central line care/management
- Phlebotomy
- Peripheral Line Care/Management
- PICC line management
- Starting IVs
- Heparin Protocols
- Manage Cardiac drips- no titration
- PCA
- Thrombolytic Agents
- Titrate Cardiac drips
- CVA
- Seizure disorders
- Substance Withdrawal

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years

- Management of dysrhythmias

Special Considerations:

- Must be >50 miles from the facility
- May be floated to sister units (West 2 West 3 and Observation unit)
- Every other weekend required
- Float to sister units required
Scheduling:
- Night shifts: 1845-0715
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Ratios: 1:3-5 for days and weekends; 1:3-6 for nights
