About the Role:
Join our team as an Engineer in Training (EIT) in Leak Detection where you will support perform and coordinate essential leak detection commissioning activities. This role is critical in configuring maintaining and quality assurance testing of leak detection Computational Pipeline Monitoring (CPM) systems and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Leak Detection Subject Matter Experts (LD SMEs) in developing and executing implementation plans as well as developing and updating project documentation.
- Work under the direction of Leak Detection subject matter experts and Project Managers.
- Perform statistical analysis of large data sets.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks on leak detection models including reviews of alarms displays overrides model diagnostics and data files.
- Perform datapath commissioning and updates to model configurations.
- Create review and update documentation procedures and training materials.
- Support the development and updating of rollout plans.
- Provide forecasts for work tasks and progress updates.
- Actively participate in the Enbridge safety culture.
Scope and Dimensions:
- This is a safety-critical role where daily activities and independent decisions can directly influence Enbridges ability to respond to a release or comply with existing leak detection-related regulations.
- Perform analysis of leak detection systems and inform SMEs of results and findings.
- Support Leak Detection projects with scope up to several hundred thousand dollars.
Working Relationships:
- Collaborate directly with Leak Detection Subject Matter Experts Project Managers SCADA Systems Analysts and other Leak Detection team members to ensure that existing Leak Detection Systems are functioning.
- Document and communicate results and issues impacting the projects to the LD SMEs Supervisors and Manager in Leak Detection.
Qualifications:
- EIT or University Business degree Graduate with 1-2 years experience or an equivalent mix of formal education and experience.
- Ability to think analytically and perform detailed analysis on large sets of data.
- Capable of coordinating multiple projects with defined timelines.
- Knowledge in pipeline hydraulics and computer programming experience is a definite asset.
- Experience using real-time transient model software and/or statistical modeling software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Effective communication facilitation customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Synergi Pipeline Simulator.
- Knowledge of Control Centre operations and SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with SharePoint JIRA and PI.
