The Team

Scotiabanks Information Technology and Solutions provides global technology solutions support to each of our core businesses - Domestic Banking International Banking Global Banking & Markets and Global Wealth & Insurance. The Role

We are looking for a Senior Manager with our xVA Technology team to help move forward our strategy and vision. This is a key position in the Global Banking & Market Engineering team responsible for supporting and delivering system solutions for Front Office Middle Office and Regulatory clients.

Is this role right for you In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including business users product team managers and other technology teams to understand business requirements processes and objectives. Analyze and translate these requirements into actional plans and functional specifications.
  • Drives modernization of legacy applications to increase efficiencies harmonize the Banks solutions as well as keep the Banks systems software currency maintained.
  • Provide coaching guidance and leadership for the BA team and assist Director/Sr. Development Manager in providing input to the team member performance and development plans.
  • Analyze data to extract insights identify trends and make data-driven recommendations throughout the course of business.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects as a project team member and dealing with on & off hour production or lower environment support issues.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role Wed love to work with you if you have:

  • 8 years experience in financial/IT industry or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of system design data modeling and software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Possesses strong problem solving and analysis skills followed by good ability to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations and solutions to complex and multi-dimensional problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build consensus and obtain cooperation from stakeholders as well as time management and organizational skills to effectively manage deliverables and planning of resources.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment where processes and procedures are consistently refined.
  • Ability to adapt and handle multiple tasks/competing priorities simultaneously.
  • A good understanding of financial market data and their uses in derivative pricing.
  • A solid understanding of derivative contracts and their inherent risks.
  • Ability to process and analyze a large quantity of data and identify outliers.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Result-oriented and client focus support business clients in a timely and professional manner.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum software delivery model.
  • Experience in SQL & CQL query.
  • Experience with Jira Confluence Microsoft Excel Microsoft Visio
  • Under-graduate degree in Computer Science Business Administration or a related discipline.
