Job Summary
Accounting Manager (Hybrid Summerland BC)
UNISUS International Schoolis seeking anAccounting Managerto join our team in Summerland BC. This is a hybrid position with in-office days onTuesday Wednesday and Thursday.
The Accounting Manager will oversee full-cycle accounting financial reporting and budgeting for a dynamic independent school serving day and boarding students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Working closely with school leadership and external partners this role ensures the accuracy compliance and efficiency of all financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounting including AP/AR reconciliations and payroll interface.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and statements.
- Monitor budgets analyze variances and provide recommendations.
- Support annual budgeting forecasting and cash flow management.
- Maintain internal controls accounting policies and system accuracy (QuickBooks Payworks DEXT).
- Liaise with auditors bookkeepers and banking partners.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
- 35 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
- CPA designationnot required(in progress or equivalent experience welcome).
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE or IFRS).
- Skilled with accounting software (QuickBooks Sage Xero or similar); familiarity with Payworks DEXT or Shopify an asset.
- Proficient in Excel and Google Workspace (pivot tables lookups financial modeling).
- Experience with payroll processing reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Highly organized able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Clear communicator who can explain financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
- Collaborative team player with integrity professionalism and sound judgment.
- Proactive mindsetidentifies risks streamlines processes and improves efficiency.

- Hours:3040 per week
- Salary:$70000$80000 annually (based on experience and education)
- Start date:PreferablyNovember 1 2025(flexible)
