Cypress Automation Tester - Remote

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Cypress Automation Tester (QAE) to join our growing QA team. This remote position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge testing technologies while ensuring the quality and reliability of our clients web applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with the Cypress testing framework API testing and Jenkins. Must have a passion for testing and building robust maintainable test automation suites.
Key Responsibilities
Test Automation Development
- Design develop and maintain comprehensive end-to-end test suites and API tests using Cypress
- Create and execute automated test scripts for web applications across multiple browsers
- Implement data-driven testing approaches and manage test data effectively
- Develop custom Cypress commands and utilities to enhance testing efficiency
- Using Cypress API checks instead of Postman
Quality Assurance & Testing Strategy
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Perform functional regression integration and API testing
- Identify document and track software defects through resolution
- Participate in SCRUM in addition to test planning estimation and risk assessment activities
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with developers product managers and other stakeholders to understand the requirements
- Participate in code reviews for test automation scripts
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging testing technologies
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Cypress testing framework
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Python
- Experience with modern web technologies (HTML5 CSS3 REST APIs)
- Solid understanding of testing methodologies and best practices
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and SCRUM
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins BDD Gherkin GitHub Actions GitLab CI or similar)
Professional Experience
- 3-5 years of overall QA/testing experience
- Experience testing responsive web applications
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Technical Skills
- Experience with other testing frameworks (Selenium Playwright Jest etc.)
- Jenkins experience
- Knowledge of performance testing tools and methodologies
- Experience with API testing and tools (Postman Insomnia or similar)
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker)
- Understanding of accessibility testing principles (WCAG guidelines)
Additional Experience
- Experience with test management tools (TestRail Xray Zephyr)
- Knowledge of database testing and SQL queries
- Experience with mobile testing (responsive design cross-browser compatibility)
- Background in security testing fundamentals
- Previous experience in mentoring or leading testing initiatives
