Instructor or Lecturer of Japanese and Chinese

The Opportunity

The College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a 9-month non-tenure earning instructor or lecturer to teach undergraduate level Japanese and Chinese courses in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures with an anticipated start date in August 2026.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A masters degree (for an instructor) or terminal degree (for a lecturer) in Japanese and/or Chinese or related field froman accredited institution at the time of appointment.

• Native or near-native fluency in Japanese and Chinese and a high level of English proficiency are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years of experience teaching beginner andintermediate language classes in Japanese and/or Chinese at the university or college level using various teaching modalities (i.e. online mixed-mode and face-to-face courses).
