Who are we looking for
GHD North America is seeking a Lead Hydropower & Pumped Hydro Energy Storage (PHES)to shape our hydropower and longduration storage growth across the United States
You are a visiblesellerdoerandtechnical authoritywho can direct complex multidisciplinary programs and represent GHD with utilities public authorities developers investors and lenders. You will align the practice with ourAmericas Clean Powerstrategy andEnergy Business Groups integratingBusiness Advisory Impact Assessment & Permitting Engineering DesignandProject execution.
Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of duties and will see you involved in:
- Lead the hydropower & PHESvision gotomarket and prioritized pursuitsin the regions above includinghydro refurbishment/modernizationandclosedloop PHESopportunities.
- Serve asProject Director / EngineerofRecordon marquee hydro/PHES programs from concept through commissioning meetingscope schedule quality and commercialtargets.
- Act as asellerdoer: originate and qualify opportunities; develop capture plans withMarket and Sector Leaders & Relationship Managers; cultivateexecutivelevel relationshipswith utilities and developers; lead proposals negotiations and governance reviews.
- Build multidisciplinary capability (i.e. civil/structural geotechnical & tunnelling mechanicalelectrical balanceofplant hydrotechnical) and mentor teams; publish and presentthought leadershipon hydropower lifeextension and PHES valuestacks.
- Develop and mentor acrossregional team; implementstandardized tools/playbooksand leverageGHD Global Collaboration Centres toscale design and studies.
What you bring to the team:
- 15 yearsin hydropower and/or PHES.
- Track record asProject Director/Leadon complex hydro/PHES programs andrecognized market presenceacross Canada and the U.S.
- Proven business development success withutilities/developersand familiarity withpermitting funding and offtakestructures for longduration storage.
The successful candidate will also have to meet the following requirements:
- Engineering degree (civil mechanical electricalor related);./PE(or eligibility) in relevant provinces/states;bilingual English/Frenchan asset for Québec and Ontario.
- Demonstratedmultidisciplinary leadership team development and mentoring; excellentwritten/oral communicationandCsuitepresence.
- Commitment toHSE quality risk management and design assurancein line with GHD systems; willingness totravel in North America.
What we expect from you:
- Provide specialized services acrossfeasibility licensing/permitting support design constructability reviews commissioningandassetmanagement planning.
