Job Summary


Reporting to the High School Dean of Student Life the High School Athletics Manager will be responsible for driving outcomes of high school athletics programming and DREAM Charter High School. The High School Athletics Manager will build and execute systems and structures that drive high quality programming including developing project plans and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to ensure their high quality execution. This is a great opportunity for a skilled athletics leader to join a highly impactful charter network with a history of using physical activity and athletics as a means to enhance the social-emotional wellbeing of high school students.

Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute project management systems and structures to ensure the successful planning and implementation of DREAM Charter High Schools athletics programming including seasonal competitive club intramural and summer high school sports teams;
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders including leagues other sports organizations and school leaders to ensure excellence in athletic programming;
    • Lead the hiring onboarding and development of DCHS seasonal part-time athletics staff;
    • Supervise part-time coaches spectator support staff and full time Physical Education teachers at DCHS;
    • Lead professional development for coaches and other key health and wellness staff; including health educators physical education instructors and athletics coaches;
    • Drive program quality by holding staff accountable for meeting program goals (for example: building physical literacy improving school culture through sport) and associated benchmarks (for example: ensuring 100% of sports practices have practice plans increasing student enrollment in athletics);
    • Create project plans for and ensure the execution of the expansion of sport offerings across DREAM Charter High School including intramural club and summer programs;
    • Create and manage operational logistics for transportation uniform and equipment ordering online platform for sports highlights field permitting and athletic data systems to ensure league schedules athlete transportation events are safe and organized;
    • Lead the planning and execution of Athletics Health and Wellness summer camps and clinics including logistics management participant registration and scheduling for DREAM Charter High School summer athletics programs;
    • Develop systems for and ensure clear and consistent communication with school leadership and other stakeholders;
    • Facilitate practices clinic and leadership academies with student athletes as needed;
    • Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive culture as it relates to athletics programs.

Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree required;
    • 2 years of athletics planning people management and program management experience required;
    • 3 years of experience in athlete development and coach development preferred;
    • A proven track record of success driving outcomes in athletics programming and managing others to meet outcomes;
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously to achieve all deadlines;
    • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail;
    • Excellent time-management skills: a self-starter who demonstrates initiative and follow-through;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence and build strong relationships to enhance work practices and support the achievement of goals;
    • Strategic mindset for developing and executing cross functional project plans;
    • Ability to lead and take initiative maintain flexibility and creatively solve problems;
    • Ability to create improve and execute on systems;
    • Ability to articulate the connection between sport/athletics and social-emotional competencies;
    • A strong belief in the mission and values of DREAM including the belief that all students can succeed and a deep desire to make a difference in the lives of our students families and community.

Working Expectations

    • In-person at the school site and/or on-site for games 10:00am-8:30pm and until 10:00pm on game nights.
    • Work includes both the school year and summer program.

Compensation

    • DREAM offers a competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience. The incoming annual salary range for this position is $70000 to $80000 per year. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary closer to the start of the range depending on qualifications internal equity and the budgeted amount for the role. All regular employees receive annual compensation increases and have the opportunity to earn both performance- and tenure-based bonuses. Because we value tenure in each role our salary ranges are not capped.
