Buyer Fashion maternity cover

The Opportunity

For our Buying team based in Brugherio (MB) we are looking for a Buyer (fashion) maternity cover full time.
In this role you will be responsible for sourcing purchasing and merchandising specific product category in a timely and efficient manner in order to maximize net profit contribution to the company.

Your Impact

Reporting to the Manager Buying Fashion you will have to:

• Source select and secure a suitable range of products for QVC to fit the target market and meet sales targets ensuring the range is fresh and exciting for the customer.

• Negotiate the best possible prices and conditions of trade

• Work closely with Planning to review product performance plan and grow the product range.

• Interact with all relevant departments in order to develop a good understanding of QVC operational requirements to aid buying decisions including but not limited to Planning Broadcasting and Distribution.

• Be aware of inventory levels taking accountability for the return to supplier process ensuring stock is returned in a timely manner.

Supplier Relations

• Regularly meet with suppliers to review product performance and develop new concepts ensuring products comply with QVCs long-term objectives and quality standards.

• Work with other Buyers and the Manager Buying Fashion on developing supplier relationships keeping abreast of new trends and competitor activity and taking advantage of new ideas/concepts and products.

• Negotiate vendor contracts and ensure they are executed in a timely manner.

Other

• Ensure all relevant financial information regarding product performance (historical and projected) is accurately prepared as and when required (e.g. year plan monthly and quarterly reviews).

• Support the Manager Buying Fashion with the preparation of sales forecasts.

• Support the Manager Buying Fashion in continually reviewing sales plan and reacting where appropriate to meet budget.

What you bring

• Degree in economics or equivalent.

• At least 3 years of experience as a Buyer retail.

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office and especially Excel.

• Fluent English and Italian.

• Previous experience in Fashion is mandatory - background in the shoes/bags is a nice to have for this role.
