Job Title: Dental Eligibility Coordinator Department: Dental Reports To: Dental Director FLSA Status: Non-exempt Hours: Full time SUMMARY The Eligibility Coordinator ensures that all patients requesting services at designated facilities meet financial eligibility requirements prior to appointment scheduling. Once eligibility is validated the Coordinator enters the required information and documentation into the system. This position is also responsible for reconfirming patient eligibility on an annual basis to ensure continued compliance with organizational standards. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Determine financial eligibility in accordance with organizational criteria while ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Document eligibility information in the appropriate systems including scanning and maintaining required documents in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Collaborate closely with clinic front desk personnel to ensure all necessary information is available for efficient appointment scheduling.
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the eligibility process propose process improvements and assist with implementing approved changes including updates to related policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality assurance risk management and performance improvement activities as well as team meetings and required training sessions.
Customer Service and Safety Standards: The Eligibility Coordinator provides courteous and professional assistance to patients residents families guests and staff in all interactions. He/she offers constructive feedback and adjusts priorities and schedules as necessary to meet customer and operational needs. The Coordinator promptly reports or resolves issues related to safety cleanliness and comfort within patient and work areas and follows Universal Precautions and Infection Control protocols. Additionally the Coordinator understands and adheres to facility safety procedures related to fire weather and other emergency situations. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Two years of experience in a dental or clinical environment or an equivalent combination of training and relevant work experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal customer service and communication skills with a commitment to providing professional and compassionate service.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
