Senior Accountant Description:

Tiffin University is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Business Office team. This position plays a key role in managing financial reporting general ledger operations payroll accounting and audit support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented analytical and collaborativehelping ensure financial accuracy and compliance while supporting the universitys mission.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports.
Manage general ledger functions and month-end close processes.
Oversee payroll accounting and investment reconciliations.
Support external audit preparation and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Reconcile bank balance sheet and grant accounts.
Maintain accurate fiscal records and assist with tax and regulatory reporting.
Collaborate with departments across campus to ensure proper documentation and reporting.

Requirements

Senior Accountant Requirements:

Education:

A bachelors degree in accounting finance business administration or a related field is required.
A masters degree in accounting finance business administration or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of 3-5 years experience in the related field.

Other:

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively in a team environment.
